How to use it
Choose the country code and type your number without the leading 0.
Optionally write the message the customer will send, e.g. "Hi, I'd like a price quote".
Copy the generated wa.me link or tap "Try the link" to test it on your own phone.
Add the link to a button on your website, your Instagram bio, your Google Business Profile or your email signature.
To measure campaigns, add UTM parameters to the page that links to WhatsApp.

How a wa.me link works
WhatsApp's click-to-chat uses the
https://wa.me/<number>?text=<message>format. The number includes the country code without plus sign, spaces, brackets or a leading zero; the message is URL-encoded.Works with regular and Business numbers
The link works for any number registered in WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business and for WhatsApp Cloud API numbers. It only opens the chat – the customer sends the message.

How do I add a pre-filled message to a WhatsApp link?
Append ?text= and the URL-encoded message to the link; this tool does the encoding for you. When the customer opens the link the message is ready in the input box.
Why no leading 0 or + in the number?
The wa.me format wants the number in international format using digits only: country code first, no leading zero. The tool strips spaces and symbols for you.
Does the link need the WhatsApp Business API?
No, the link works with any WhatsApp number. To answer incoming messages automatically with the OrqLabs AI chatbot, the number has to be connected through the WhatsApp Business Cloud API.
