Patreon integration: automation for new members and pledge changes

Connect your Patreon campaign to OrqLabs with your Creator's Access Token. When someone joins, changes their pledge or is removed, a workflow starts – so welcome messages, thank-yous and a monthly supporter report run on their own.

What it does in OrqLabs

OrqLabs connects to Patreon through API v2 with the Creator's Access Token of your client in the developer portal – no separate Patreon login needed. When you connect, a webhook for your campaign listening to members:create, members:pledge:update and members:delete is created automatically.

Patreon generates its own secret for that webhook, and OrqLabs verifies every delivery's X-Patreon-Signature with it. Workflows start with the member's name, email, patron status, current monthly pledge, tier names, last charge status and lifetime support.

The Patreon node reads your campaign's name, patron count and link, and lists members – filtered by patron status – with their tiers and pledges.

What you can automate

  • Welcome new members

For a new active patron, Generate text writes a warm welcome that explains the tier's perks and Send email delivers it.

  • Thank pledge upgrades

When a pledge changes, your team is notified with the new amount and tier, and the member gets a personal thank-you.

  • Monthly supporter report

At the start of each month, List members pulls active patrons and Create report summarises them by tier, or the list is written to your CRM.

Setup at a glance

  1. With the campaign owner's account, open patreon.com/portal → My Clients → Create Client and choose Client API Version 2.

  2. Copy the Creator's Access Token from the client's details.

  3. In OrqLabs, go to Integrations → Patreon → Connect, pick the project and paste the token – the webhook is created automatically.

  4. Pick a Patreon event in the Integration event trigger and try the workflow with a test delivery from the webhook in the portal.

Requirements

  • A live Patreon creator page (campaign) and its owner's account.
  • A client created with API v2 on patreon.com/portal and its Creator's Access Token.

What you enter when connecting

  • Creator's access token *

Good to know

  • The Creator's Access Token can expire; when it does, refresh it in the portal and update it in OrqLabs.
  • The Patreon API doesn't support sending direct messages to members, so outreach goes through email or other channels.
  • Post events are not triggers in this version.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to sign in to Patreon with OAuth?

No. Your own client's Creator's Access Token is enough, and OrqLabs only accesses your campaign's data.

Do free members trigger events too?

Yes, free joins can trigger the new-member event. To act on paying patrons only, filter on the patron status active_patron.

Which currency are the amounts in?

Patreon reports amounts in cents of your campaign's currency, and OrqLabs converts them to whole units (500 → 5).
