Webflow CMS integration: add blog posts to your collections

Connect your Webflow site to OrqLabs with a site API token. Articles written in your workflows are added to your blog collection as draft items, and after approval you publish the item or the whole site in one step.

What it does in OrqLabs

OrqLabs connects to Webflow through the official Data API v2 and an API token that belongs to your site. The Webflow node lists CMS collections with their fields, adds new items to a collection and publishes items or the whole site.

Create item reads the collection's real fields and fills in the common blog fields for you: the title goes to the name field, the body to the first rich text field, the summary to the summary field and the cover image to the first image field. A Markdown body is converted to HTML and an empty slug is built from the title. Other fields – a category reference, a featured switch – go in as JSON by their slugs.

Items are created as drafts by default and don't appear on the live site until you publish them. Publish item publishes only the items you choose, while Publish site pushes every staged change to your custom domains and the webflow.io address. Test runs in the editor never write to your site.

What you can automate

  • CMS items from SEO briefs

Turn a content brief from the SEO & Traffic Growth agent into an article with Generate text and add it to your blog collection as a draft item with Webflow → Create item.

  • Blog items with a cover image

The cover image URL from the Generate image node goes into the collection's image field, and Webflow downloads the image into its own assets.

  • Publish after approval

Open an approval task for the draft item; once approved, Publish item takes it live, and if it's rejected it stays a draft.

  • Weekly site publish

Publish everything added during the week in one go every Friday with a Schedule trigger and Publish site.

Nodes that use this integration

In the workflow editor these nodes run with your Webflow account.

  • Webflow

List collections · Create item · Publish item · Publish site

Setup at a glance

  1. In the Webflow Dashboard, open the site's Settings → Apps & integrations page.

  2. Under API access, generate a token with read and write access to CMS and Sites and copy it.

  3. In OrqLabs, go to Integrations → Webflow → Connect, pick the project and paste the token.

  4. In a workflow, use List collections to get the collection ID and the field slugs.

  5. Add items with Create item and publish them with Publish item.

Good to know

  • Webflow allows at most one site publish per minute.
  • Images must come from a public URL and be 4 MB or smaller.
  • The Webflow API doesn't support code blocks in rich text fields.
  • Only new items can be added for now – existing items are edited in Webflow. Details: Webflow setup guide.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the new item show up on my site?

Items are created as drafts. They don't appear on the live site until Publish item or Publish site runs.

My collection uses different field names – does it still work?

Yes. The body, summary and image go into the collection's fields of the matching type automatically, and you set any other field in Field data by its slug.

Can I fill reference fields such as a category?

Yes. In Field data, give the referenced item's ID under the field's slug; multi-reference fields take a list of IDs.
