What it does in OrqLabs

OrqLabs connects to WordPress through the core REST API and an application password – no extra plugin needed. The WordPress node creates and updates posts, reads one post or a list of posts, and uploads an image from a URL to the Media Library. Markdown content is converted to HTML, missing tags are created and categories are matched by name.

The safe default is a draft: if you don't pick a status, the post is always saved as a draft and the output includes its edit link. Add a publish date to create a scheduled post. For approved publishing, create the draft, add a Request approval step and then switch it live with Update post. Test runs in the editor never write to your site.

When an active workflow listens to the new-post trigger, OrqLabs checks the site every 5 minutes and starts the workflow for each newly published post with its title, URL, excerpt, content, categories and tags – so announcing a blog post on social media or adding it to a newsletter runs on its own.

What you can automate

  • Draft posts from SEO briefs

Turn a content brief from the SEO & Traffic Growth agent into an article with Generate text and save it as a draft with WordPress → Create post; your editor reviews it from the edit link.

  • Posts with a cover image

The cover image made by the Generate image node is uploaded to the Media Library and set as the post's featured image, alt text included.

  • Publish after approval

Open an approval task with the draft's link; when it's approved, Update post switches the post live, and if it's rejected it stays a draft.

  • Announce new posts on social

The new-post trigger picks up the title and excerpt, the Content Creator writes LinkedIn, X and Instagram copy, and the posts wait in your approval queue.

Good to know

  • Only posts are supported – pages and custom post types are not.
  • Core WordPress has no webhooks, so new posts are checked every 5 minutes and backdated posts aren't picked up.
  • Content is saved as HTML and opens as a Classic block in the block editor.
  • Some hosts strip the Authorization header and need a small server tweak. Details: WordPress setup guide.

Frequently asked questions

Are AI-written posts published right away?

No. With no status selected, a post is always saved as a draft. To publish, set the status to Published explicitly or switch it live with Update post after an approval step.

Does it work with WordPress.com?

Yes, on WordPress.com Business plans and higher, which support application passwords. For self-hosted WordPress, version 5.6 or later is enough.

How are tags and categories matched?

By name, slug or ID. Missing tags are created automatically; missing categories are only created if you allow it, otherwise the run fails.

Do I need to install a plugin?

No. OrqLabs uses WordPress's built-in REST API and application passwords.
