Google Analytics 4 integration: automated GA4 reporting

Connect your GA4 property through Google's own consent screen with read-only access. OrqLabs pulls the data every day, builds reports with the metrics and dimensions you pick, and the Analytics Strategist explains the results against your goals.

What it does in OrqLabs

The hard part of automated Google Analytics 4 reporting isn't pulling the data, it's reading it the same way every week. OrqLabs handles this on two levels: every day it stores a summary of sessions, users, page views, engaged sessions and conversions, broken down by channel, device, country and page, in your project. Inside workflows, the Google Analytics report node queries the GA4 Data API on demand with the metrics, dimensions and date range you choose.

That data becomes common ground for your agents. The Analytics Strategist reads the GA4 summary and custom reports, explains with evidence what worked and what didn't, and proposes changes to your strategy document; by default every proposal waits for your approval. SEO & Traffic Growth, Market Analyst, Campaign Planner and Report Writer use the same GA4 summary.

The integration is read-only: the only permission requested is the analytics.readonly scope, and nothing in GA4 is changed. Connections are per project, so each brand or client project gets its own GA4 property.

What you can automate

  • Weekly GA4 review

The weekly GA4 review template runs every Monday: it merges the last 7 days of GA4 data with Instagram metrics, has the Analytics Strategist interpret them and sends the proposed strategy changes to you for approval.

  • Custom reports with any breakdown

List metrics (sessions, totalUsers, engagementRate…) and dimensions (date, sessionDefaultChannelGroup, landingPage…) in the Google Analytics report node; rows for the last 7, 28 or 90 days, or a custom range, flow into the next nodes.

  • Threshold alerts

The KPI threshold check node compares daily totals such as ga.sessions or ga.conversions with a threshold or with the previous period and routes the flow to “above” or “below”. It reads stored totals instead of calling GA4, so frequent runs don't eat into your quota.

  • React when a goal is missed

If your project strategy has numeric KPI targets, the last 7 days are checked against them after every sync. When a target is missed you get an in-app notification and an “analytics threshold” event, which can start a workflow through the Platform event trigger.

  • Send metrics to a spreadsheet

Append Google Analytics report rows to a Google Sheets spreadsheet with the Sync to CRM / Sheet node to keep a weekly tracking sheet your whole team can open.

Nodes that use this integration

In the workflow editor these nodes run with your Google Analytics 4 account.

  • Google Analytics report

Pulls the numbers you choose from Google Analytics for a date range, e.g. weekly visitors and conversions broken down by channel.

Setup at a glance

  1. In OrqLabs, open Integrations → Google Analytics 4 → Connect and pick the project the data belongs to.

  2. Enter your property in the GA4 Property ID field as properties/123456789.

  3. On Google's consent screen, choose the account that has access to the property; the only permission requested is viewing Analytics data.

  4. Once the card shows Connected, use Test connection to fetch the session total for the last 7 days.

  5. Click Sync now for the first import; after that the sync runs automatically every day.

  6. Add a Google Analytics report node to a workflow, or start from the weekly review template.

Requirements

  • A GA4 property; legacy Universal Analytics properties are not supported.
  • A Google account with at least the Viewer role on the property.
  • The GA4 Property ID from Admin → Property details: the numeric ID, not the G- measurement ID.
  • Owner or Admin role in OrqLabs and a free integration slot on your plan.

Requested permissions

  • analytics.readonly

What you enter when connecting

  • GA4 Property ID *

Good to know

  • Google finalizes GA4 data within 24–48 hours. OrqLabs rewrites the last two days on every sync, so yesterday's figures may shift slightly the next day.
  • The automatic sync runs once a day; real-time GA4 data is not available. Each Google Analytics report node is a separate Data API request and counts toward your property's Google quota.
  • The integration only reads: it never creates or changes conversions, audiences or settings in GA4.

Frequently asked questions

Do I give OrqLabs my Google password?

No. You connect on Google's own consent screen and grant permission to view Analytics data only. You can revoke access from your Google account settings at any time.

What's the difference between the Property ID and the measurement ID (G-XXXX)?

The measurement ID identifies the tag on your site. Reporting needs the numeric property ID shown under Admin → Property details in GA4, entered in OrqLabs with the properties/ prefix.

Can I connect several websites or clients?

Yes. Connections are per project, so each project gets its own GA4 property. Each connection uses one integration slot on your plan.

Why does yesterday's data change later?

GA4 finalizes data within 24–48 hours, so OrqLabs re-fetches the last two days every day and updates the stored figures.

Will the Analytics Strategist change my strategy on its own?

Not by default. Auto-apply is off, so proposals land in an approval step or in the report's recommendations and are applied only when you approve them.
