Serper integration: a Google Search API for your agents
Serper serves Google search results through an API. Connect your key once and every agent that searches the web, plus the **Web search** node, uses that account; queries come straight out of your own Serper credits.

What it does in OrqLabs
Google search through the Serper API is how your agents reach current information. Every agent with the web search tool (Content Creator, AI Chatbot, Lead Researcher, Lead Qualifier, Market Analyst, Competitor Analyst, SEO & Traffic Growth, Campaign Planner and Custom Agent) searches through Serper. Each result comes back as a title, URL and snippet, and the agent downloads the full page when it needs more.
The key is set once for the whole organization: all projects share the same account and credit balance. If both Serper and Tavily are connected, agents use Serper by default; you can pick a different search account in the Web search node or in an agent's Accounts it may use field.
You pay Serper directly for queries made with your key, and OrqLabs records those calls in usage for information only. Without a Serper connection, agents fall back to a shared platform search key if one is configured; otherwise web search is unavailable and agents work only with the URLs you give them.
What you can automate
Weekly lead lists
In the lead research → qualify → outreach template, the Lead Researcher searches Serper for companies that match your ideal customer profile, the Lead Qualifier scores them and the shortlist comes to you for approval.
Competitor and market monitoring
The Competitor Analyst searches for competitors' messaging, content and pricing; the Market Analyst finds industry sources and lists the sources it used in its report.
Scheduled search flows
The Web search node returns each result as a separate item. For example, search for new results about your brand every morning, summarize them with a Generate text node and notify your team.
Country-specific results
The node's Country code (default
tr) is passed to Serper, and agents can set a country per search too. For research abroad, name the target country in the task.

Ready-made templates
Setup at a glance
Sign up at serper.dev and copy the API Key from the dashboard.
In OrqLabs, open Integrations → Serper (Google Search API) → Connect.
Paste the key into the API key field and click Connect.
Test connection runs a single search, which uses one query from your Serper credits.
Run an agent that searches the web, or add a Web search node to a workflow.
Requirements
- A serper.dev account and the API key from its dashboard.
- Enough Serper credits for your volume; Serper gives new accounts free trial queries.
- Owner or Admin role in OrqLabs; the key is organization-wide, so no project is selected.
What you enter when connecting
- API key *
Good to know
- When your Serper credits run out, the search tool returns errors; the agent continues without search, with weaker results.
- Serper returns search results only; page content is read separately by OrqLabs' page fetch tool.
- Because the key is organization-wide, you can't set a separate quota per project; all projects draw on the same credits.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate Serper key per project?
No. The key is organization-wide; all projects use the same account and credit balance.
Serper or Tavily?
Serper returns raw Google results with strong country targeting, which suits lead and competitor research. Tavily returns cleaned content for AI. You can connect both; agents use Serper by default.
Who pays for the searches?
Serper bills you for queries made with your key. OrqLabs adds no charge on top and records them for information only.
Do agents stop when my credits run out?
No, but the search tool returns errors, so the agent carries on without search and results get weaker. Top up credits in the Serper dashboard to continue.
