Brevo integration: sync newsletter subscribers and send campaigns from Brevo
Connect your Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) account with an API key. Newsletters you build in OrqLabs go out from your own Brevo account and verified sender, and opens, clicks and unsubscribes come back to OrqLabs.

What it does in OrqLabs
The Brevo integration hands the sending of OrqLabs' Newsletter module over to your own Brevo account. To connect, you only enter the v3 API key starting with xkeysib-; then, in the details panel, you pick the default contact list subscribers sync to and the verified sender campaigns go out from. Senders that aren't verified in Brevo can't be selected.
Confirmed subscribers are added to or updated in the Brevo list you chose, with first and last name written to the FIRSTNAME / LASTNAME attributes. For subscribers who haven't confirmed yet, enter the ID of a *Double opt-in* template in Brevo and they receive Brevo's own confirmation email, joining the list once they click the link.
When you send a newsletter, an email campaign is created in Brevo and sent right away or at the time you scheduled. Sent, delivered, opens, clicks, unsubscribes and bounces are read from Brevo's campaign statistics. If a campaign send fails, it is never retried automatically, so the same campaign can't reach your list twice.
What you can automate
Send newsletters through Brevo
The email you build from blocks in the Newsletter module is created as a Brevo campaign and sent from your own account; sending fees are on your Brevo plan and don't use OrqLabs credits.
Subscriber sync
Confirmed subscribers from your signup form or a CSV import sync to the default Brevo list; batches of more than 100 contacts go through Brevo's import in the background.
Double opt-in signups
Unconfirmed subscribers receive Brevo's own double opt-in email; once they click the link they join the list and are redirected to the address you set.
Campaign statistics
Opens, clicks, unsubscribes and bounces show up in the newsletter's stats in OrqLabs, so you don't have to open Brevo to see the results.
Setup at a glance
In Brevo, open the account menu → SMTP & API → API Keys → Generate a new API key and copy the value starting with
xkeysib-; it's shown only once.Add a sender under Senders, Domains & Dedicated IPs → Senders → Add a sender and verify it with the link in the email Brevo sends.
In OrqLabs, go to Integrations → Brevo → Connect, pick the project and paste the API key.
In the card's details panel, under Newsletter defaults, choose the contact list, the verified sender and an optional reply-to address, then save.
Optional: for unconfirmed subscribers, enter the ID of your Brevo *Double opt-in* template and the post-confirmation redirect URL, then click Test connection.
Requirements
- A Brevo account – according to our guide, the free plan starts at 300 emails a day.
- A verified sender in Brevo; verifying your domain too (DKIM / DMARC) is recommended for deliverability.
- At least one contact list in Brevo (Contacts → Lists).
- An API key starting with
xkeysib-, created under SMTP & API → API Keys (an SMTP key won't work).
What you enter when connecting
- API key (v3) *
Good to know
- Campaigns only go out from senders verified in Brevo; if a sender is deleted or loses verification, the send is rejected.
- Without a double opt-in template, unconfirmed subscribers aren't sent to Brevo; they're added in the next sync once they confirm.
- A failed campaign send is never retried automatically, so the same campaign can't go out twice; check its status in Brevo.
- Brevo API keys have access to the whole account with no separate scopes, so create a key just for OrqLabs.
Frequently asked questions
Why use Brevo instead of the built-in newsletter?
The built-in newsletter sends from your own SMTP or Resend account with a daily limit per mailbox. If you already have a Brevo account, you can sync subscribers there and send campaigns on Brevo's infrastructure; see the newsletter guide.
Who pays for sending?
Your Brevo plan. OrqLabs doesn't deduct credits for newsletters sent through Brevo.
What happens to people who unsubscribe?
People who use Brevo's unsubscribe link are flagged in Brevo and OrqLabs won't resubscribe them; anyone who unsubscribes in OrqLabs is removed from the Brevo list too.
Why is my key rejected?
Most likely you entered the SMTP key starting with xsmtpsib-, which doesn't work with the API. Create a key starting with xkeysib- under SMTP & API → API Keys.
