Threads integration: auto-posting and post scheduling

OrqLabs connects your Threads account to workflows: the Content Creator writes conversation-starting posts within the 500-character limit and the Social Publisher schedules and publishes them. Views, likes, replies and reposts flow into your reports.

What it does in OrqLabs

Threads auto-posting runs on Meta's separate Threads API. Your Instagram connection does not cover Threads; you authorize with your Threads account separately. OrqLabs exchanges the short-lived token for a 60-day one and renews it before expiry as long as the account is in use.

Text posts (with an optional link attachment), single images, videos and carousels of up to 20 items are supported. Publishing takes two steps: a media container is created and processed, then published, and OrqLabs handles this for you. Scheduled posts wait in the OrqLabs publishing queue.

Each post can have up to 500 characters and one topic tag. The Content Creator knows these limits and uses a casual tone with a reply-inviting close for Threads. From one campaign brief you can produce separate Instagram and Threads versions, each following its own rules.

What you can automate

  • Threads alongside Instagram

The Content Creator writes separate Instagram and Threads posts from the same campaign brief; the Social Publisher picks a separate slot for each platform.

  • Best-time scheduling

The Social Publisher uses the posting times in your strategy document and past engagement, and never puts two Threads posts on the same day.

  • Performance tracking

The Get post metrics node reads views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and shares; the Report Writer adds them to a weekly summary.

  • Announcements without AI

If the text is ready, the Publish post node posts it directly, and with a fixed time the Schedule post node queues it; there is no model cost.

Agents that work with it

Nodes that use this integration

In the workflow editor these nodes run with your Threads account.

  • Publish post

Posts text and media to your connected social account right away, e.g. sharing an approved Instagram post instantly.

  • Schedule post

Saves the post to your Content calendar and publishes it at the time you set, e.g. preparing the week's posts on Monday and spreading them out.

  • Get post metrics

Fetches views, likes, comments, shares and clicks for your recent posts, e.g. to build a weekly performance report.

Setup at a glance

Requirements

  • A Threads account; Threads accounts are tied to your Instagram account.
  • A separate authorization for Threads; the Instagram connection is not enough.
  • The Owner or Admin role in your OrqLabs organization.

Requested permissions

  • threads_basic
  • threads_content_publish
  • threads_manage_insights

Good to know

  • Reading and replying to comments is not available for Threads, so the Community Manager does not use this account.
  • Text over 500 characters is not split into several posts; the Social Publisher skips an over-limit post instead of publishing it.
  • The Threads API allows 250 posts per account in 24 hours.
  • While the Meta app is in development mode, only accounts added as Threads testers can connect.

Frequently asked questions

Is my Instagram connection enough for Threads?

No. Threads needs its own authorization, which you grant from the Threads card.

Can I post images and videos on Threads?

Yes. Text, single images, videos and carousels of up to 20 items are supported; media must be at a public URL.

Does it answer replies on Threads?

No. In OrqLabs, reading and replying to comments is available only for X, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.

Does it split long text?

No. There is a 500-character limit, and the Content Creator writes Threads posts to fit it.
