Social media scheduling agent that publishes approved posts at the best time
Social Publisher doesn't write content; it gets finished, approved posts to the right account at the right time. It picks slots from each platform's last 28 days of engagement and skips any post that breaks a rule, with the reason, instead of editing it.

What the agent does
In schedule mode the agent reads the last 28 days of performance for every platform involved and uses the times that stand out; with no data it falls back to weekdays at 09:00, 12:30 and 18:00. It keeps at least 3 hours between two posts on the same platform, schedules at most 3 posts per platform per day, starts no sooner than 30 minutes from now and uses your project's time zone. A saved agent remembers its last scheduled slot and keeps the cadence going.
Every post is checked before it goes out: does Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Pinterest content have media, is the copy within the platform limit, is an account connected for that platform, was the same post published in the last 7 days? A post that fails is never rewritten; it goes on the “skipped” list with the reason. Platform ids of published posts are stored so performance reports can match them.
With approval on (default), only posts in the Approved state are handled and posts still awaiting approval are skipped. The daily social media content template turns this setting off because approval happens in an earlier step. When a post's time is already fixed, the non-AI Schedule post node is enough.
Inputs / Outputs
Inputs
- When to publish
- Schedule for best time (default): each post is planned for the hour with the highest engagement on its platform and shows up in the Content calendar. Publish now: eligible posts go live immediately; use it for announcements and breaking news.
- Approve before publishing
- When on (default), only posts you approved are handled and the rest are skipped as “awaiting approval”. When off, posts still in draft can go out too, so only turn it off when an Approval step runs earlier in the workflow.
Outputs
- published
- Posts sent out right away: post id, platform and, when available, the post's id and URL on the platform plus the publish time.
- scheduled
- Scheduled posts: platform, planned date and time with time zone offset, and why that slot was chosen.
- skipped
- Skipped posts with reasons: missing media, over the character limit, no connected account, awaiting approval, or a duplicate of something published in the last 7 days.
Saves a report to the Reports page on every run: Social performance.

Integrations it uses
Example tasks
- “Spread this week's approved posts from the Content page across the best times. Nothing at weekends.”
- “Only handle the Instagram and Facebook posts. Don't publish a post without an image; skip it and note why.”
- “Schedule the campaign posts on weekdays between 09:00 and 18:00. At most 8 posts, and no more than one per platform per day.”
- “Only handle LinkedIn and X posts; skip the other platforms and report them.”
Tips for good results
- Put permanent publishing rules (“never on public holidays”, “nothing before 10:00”) in the saved agent's Additional instructions; rules in a task only apply to that run.
- If drafts pile up, cap the run in the task: “schedule at most 10 posts”.
- To publish from one specific account only, pick it in the node's Integrations field.
- The decision logic is simple, so low thinking effort is enough; you can keep max steps and the run budget low as well.
- The agent never rewrites copy. Edit an over-limit post on the Content page or rerun Content Creator.
Model advice
Default model
Claude Haiku 4.5
Per 1M tokens: $1 input · $5 output
Economy model
Claude Haiku 4.5
Per 1M tokens: $1 input · $5 output
This agent already defaults to an economy-tier model, because its job is choosing slots by rule and checking posts, not writing. A stronger model brings no measurable benefit here; stay on the economy model with low thinking effort to keep the cost per run as low as possible.

Frequently asked questions
Which platforms can it schedule posts on?
Every social account connected to your project: X, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest. Posts for a platform without a connected account are skipped without an error.
Why aren't my TikTok videos public?
TikTok keeps videos uploaded through unaudited apps visible only to the account owner (SELF_ONLY). Public posting requires the platform's TikTok app to pass TikTok's audit.
Why was my Instagram post skipped?
Instagram requires an image or video on every post and a professional (Business or Creator) account. Posts without media are skipped; add an image generation step or attach a visual.
Can it delete a published post?
No. OrqLabs never deletes published posts from a platform; you delete them in the platform's own app. The record stays on the Content page.
