TikTok integration: automated video uploads and scheduling

OrqLabs brings TikTok video uploads into your workflows: the Content Creator writes the caption and a script outline, you supply the video and the Social Publisher schedules it for the best slot. Views, likes, comments and shares flow into your reports.

What it does in OrqLabs

The TikTok integration uses TikTok's Content Posting API and accepts video only. TikTok pulls the video from a public URL, and the caption and hashtags travel with the post. TikTok then processes the video on its side, which can take a few minutes.

One important constraint: TikTok publishes uploads from apps that have not passed its audit as visible to the account owner only (SELF_ONLY). Until the platform's TikTok app completes that audit, videos do not go public, so use this period to test your workflow and approval steps.

For TikTok, the Content Creator writes a video script outline in the post body (a hook in the first 3 seconds, beats, on-screen text, call to action) plus a title and caption. Access tokens expire every 24 hours and the refresh token lasts 365 days; OrqLabs renews access automatically.

What you can automate

  • Captions and script outlines

The Content Creator turns a campaign brief into a TikTok script outline, a caption and up to 5 hashtags; you shoot the video from that outline.

  • Video scheduling

Once you add the video to the draft in the Content editor, the Social Publisher schedules the post for the best slot; a post without a video is skipped with the reason recorded.

  • Performance tracking

The Get post metrics node reads views, likes, comments and shares for recent videos; the Report Writer adds them to a weekly summary.

  • Cross-platform video distribution

To publish the same video on YouTube and as an Instagram Reel, add a separate Publish post node per platform; each one gets its own caption.

Agents that work with it

Nodes that use this integration

In the workflow editor these nodes run with your TikTok account.

  • Publish post

Posts text and media to your connected social account right away, e.g. sharing an approved Instagram post instantly.

  • Schedule post

Saves the post to your Content calendar and publishes it at the time you set, e.g. preparing the week's posts on Monday and spreading them out.

  • Get post metrics

Fetches views, likes, comments, shares and clicks for your recent posts, e.g. to build a weekly performance report.

Setup at a glance

  1. On the Integrations page click Connect on the TikTok card.

  2. Pick the project this account belongs to and click Connect.

  3. Sign in on TikTok's authorization screen and approve the permissions.

  4. Once the card shows Connected, use Test connection to confirm the username and follower count.

  5. Run your first try with a short test video; until the audit is complete, the video is visible only to you.

  • video.publish
  • video.list

Good to know

  • Until the audit is complete, TikTok forces uploads to be visible only to you (SELF_ONLY), and OrqLabs also uploads as SELF_ONLY unless another privacy level is set on the connection.
  • Image or text-only posts are not possible: TikTok's API accepts video only, and OrqLabs does not produce videos.
  • TikTok does not open comment reading or replies to third-party apps, so the Community Manager does not use TikTok.
  • TikTok allows roughly 15 posts per user in 24 hours and requires the video's domain to be verified with TikTok before it can pull the file from a URL.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my TikTok videos visible only to me?

TikTok forces uploads from apps that have not passed its audit to SELF_ONLY. Public posting requires the platform's TikTok app to complete TikTok's audit.

Can I post photos or images to TikTok?

No. The integration uploads video only; for image posts, use the Instagram or Pinterest integrations.

Does OrqLabs create the video?

No. The Content Creator writes the caption and a script outline; you shoot the video and add it as a public URL.

Can it reply to TikTok comments?

No. TikTok does not open comment reading or replies to third-party apps.
